MAUMEE, Ohio — St. Luke's Hospital announced Tuesday, that Jennifer Montgomery has been selected to replace Dan Wakeman as the hospital's president and CEO effective August 3.
Wakeman announced his retirement earlier this year following his 12 years of leadership in the position.
Montgomery was selected by the Board of Trustees of St. Luke's Hospital.
“Jennifer brings three facets of leadership and experience that were important in our selection of the next leader for St. Luke’s,” said William Carroll, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. “The first is a commitment to excellence in patient care services. She is a trained clinical professional with over two decades of direct patient care experience. The second is clinical leadership. Jennifer has overseen, with notable success, the clinical services and nursing operations of hospitals that are very similar to St. Luke’s. Lastly, she is a proven health care executive who knows how to run, and more importantly, grow the operations and services of a full-service hospital that is a part of a larger integrated health system.”
Montgomery previously served as President and CEO of McLaren Port Huron since 2015.
Prior to her new role, she served as the Vice President of Nursing and Clinical Services/Chief Nursing Officer at McLaren Port Huron as well.
Beginning her career in 1993 as a staff nurse, Montgomery has earned numerous promotions and advancements in a variety of clinical and administrative leadership roles.
Throughout her career, Montgomery has focused on enhancing patient care services, improving clinical outcomes by working in partnership with physicians and instilling strategic financial discipline necessary to achieve the operational and capital goals that support a healthy and growing organization.
