Summer plans changed or impacted due to the coronavirus?

With the coronavirus putting a damper on summer plans, some people are trying to make the best out of the situation

OHIO, USA —

Memorial Day is often seen as the traditional start of summer., however , the coronavirus is forcing many of us to change our summer plans.

Almost everyone has had their summer plans changed or impacted due to the coronavirus, from concerts and family reunions.

Many people in the area had to cancel their plans.

"A couple concerts planned and  the usual family reunion and we had to cancel the family reunion and that was in Detroit this year,” said Sylvia Lewis who had to cancel her summer plans.

“We had all the plans. We had all the reservations already made and we had to cancel that but my family had made a group chat to still stay in touch and try to have that time together,” added Serenity Thomas, who also had to change her summer plans.

With the coronavirus putting a damper on things, they are trying to make the best out of the situation and find alternative options for some summer fun

"Go to the parks so you know you can still see your loved ones, do drive-bys you know still get in your car take a trip go show your family like a historic site you know like me where you grew up or you come downtown show him everything that's down here and just take a ride,” said Lewis.

There is always next year. You can always stay connected through video chats and everything like this will end we will see each other again,” added Thomas.

While some are sad to have their summer plans canceled due to COVID-19, others say they are more than happy to stay at home until the pandemic passes.

"Because I do want to stay you know healthy. I don't want this virus, and I think everybody needs to take this virus seriously because it's very serious it's nothing to play with," added Lewis.

Whether you are planning to stay at home or taking a day trip around day try to make most out of this summer while it last.
