Suspect arrested following burglary in north Toledo

A burglary in north Toledo took place on Tuesday morning.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A suspect has reportedly been taken into custody following a burglary in north Toledo that took place shortly before 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

According to the Toledo police, units were dispatched to a home 300 block of Dexter Street. After arriving at the scene, police said they spotted the suspect through an open window. 

Responding officers stated that when they announced themselves outside the home, the suspect, now identified as Keith Goucher, 49, went towards the back door. 

Police report that they forced the back door open and the suspect ran towards the front of the home,  where he was then taken into custody.

Goucher, was arrested and booked for criminal trespassing and a warrant in a Lucas county for driving under financial responsibility.

The homeowners were not present at the time of the burglary.
