Sylvania DORA District is a big hit

Restaurants and bar owners say business has spiked especially since the warm weather arrived.

SYLVANIA, Ohio — It's been two months since Sylvania's DORA district opened and everyone you talk to on Main Street is toasting to it's success.

The DORA District allows folks to barhop along Main Street while carrying an alcoholic drink.

"I love it. It's a great idea. You get a chance to walk around and enjoy the festivities and see what's going on," said Greg May.

Restaurants and bar owners say business has spiked especially since the warm weather arrived.

No  surprises for them but there has been a learning curve between customers and staff.

"Just in general the fact you can't take a cup from outside into an establishment and when you get a drink you have to make your way to the door as soon as you get it," said Brandon Fields of Inside the Five Brewery.

DORA has had spinoff effect on businesses like Fuller Art House. But you can't bring your drink inside them.

"We've always been trying to build this concept that we're an entertainment district. We are trying to provide fun for the community so obviously this has helped us out in a great way," said Dani Fuller of the Fuller Art House.

You can enjoy the fun of downtown Sylvania's DORA district seven days a week from noon to midnight.

"I think it's great. Why not" added Tami May.
