OREGON, Ohio — Applications are now available for those looking for paratransit services in Oregon through the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority, or TARTA.
The services are set to begin on Jan. 7, 2024, but Oregon residents with mobility challenges who live within three-quarters of a mile of a TARTA fixed-route stop can now apply to ride TARPS.
Those looking to take advantage of the service will be able to schedule a ride anywhere TARTA travels for $3 one-way. If you're out of the TARPS service zone, you will be able to request an accessible ride using TARTA Flex, an on-demand service.
TARTA said that fixed-route stops will be on Navarre Avenue, meaning paratransit pickups will be able to be scheduled from Oregon Senior Center, Eastern Branch Community YMCA and other locations.
Oregon residents can find full maps for TARPS and TARTA Flex pick-up zones at tarta.com/Oregon. Those applying for TARPS service must have a qualifying disability and complete an application and interview process. Applications can be viewed by clicking HERE.
After approval, customers will be able to request rides by calling 419-382-9901. Paratransit trips can also be purchased using TARPS passes or through the EZFare app.
Click HERE if you're a passenger wishing to ride TARTA's fixed-route service on Route 2 to find out if you are eligible for discounted passes.
