TPD investigating teen shot in west Toledo early Friday

Toledo Police tell WTOL 11 the victim said he was shot in a field and managed to get to a nearby home, where the homeowner then called for help.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A teenage male was rushed to the hospital after being shot Friday morning in west Toledo.

This happened around 2 a.m. on Upton Avenue near the Toledo Technology Academy of Engineering. Toledo Police tell WTOL 11 the victim said he was shot in a field and managed to get to a nearby home, where the homeowner then called for help.

The injured juvenile was transported to a nearby hospital by life squad. His condition is unknown at this time.

TPD searched the school grounds nearby and found at least one bullet casing. One neighbor tells WTOL 11 that he heard around ten gun shots being fired. 

No arrests have been made.
