FRANKLIN, Ohio — The Swanton post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that occurred on the Ohio Turnpike in Fulton County early on Saturday morning.
According to OSHP, a truck hit a van on Interstate 80 near milepost 26 at around 2 a.m. on Saturday, June 22.
Authorities say a 2006 Dodge Sprinter was driving westbound in the right lane when it was struck from behind by a 2024 Volvo commercial vehicle that was also traveling westbound.
Officers say the Dodge van traveled off the side of the road following the collision, where it overturned, struck a ditch and a fence before coming to a halt in a field.
The female driver of the van along with two passengers were transported to local hospitals with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to OSHP.
Authorities say the driver of the commercial Volvo sustained no injuries following the collision.
OSHP reports that all involved individuals were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Investigators say that no drug or alcohol use is suspected.
