TIFFIN, Ohio — Tiffin police, as well as other first responder agencies, are conducted a training exercise Tuesday morning at an area hospital.
Authorities from the Tiffin Police Department informed the public via a social media post of the training, which was scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. and last until noon at Tiffin Mercy Hospital.
Tiffin police said they wanted to assure the public that, although they would see an increased presence of law enforcement and first responders at the hospital, there was no cause for alarm.
Agencies at the scene will include the Emergency Services Unit which is comprised of personnel from Tiffin police, Fostoria police, the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, the Tiffin Fire/Rescue Division and Fostoria Fire Department.
According to Tiffin police, the purpose of the exercise is to strengthen strategies and communication between law enforcement and emergency medical services.
"Through these realistic simulations, our teams are able to practice complex, high-stakes scenarios, ensuring the best possible response for our community in real-life emergencies," The Tiffin police chief said in the post.
