Nobody puts Big Baby in the corner | Toledo boxer Jared Anderson ready for Las Vegas fight

Anderson will take on Johnnie Langston in the first boxing event since coronavirus halted sports

TOLEDO, Ohio — Boxing will make its return June 9. It’s the first event since the coronavirus pandemic halted sports. A Toledo boxer will be a part of that action from Las Vegas.

Big Baby has caused big problems for opponents. He’s undefeated with three straight knockouts to start his pro career.

He’s hoping Tuesday’s fight against Johnnie Langston will be no different.

“My biggest attribute is my speed. Everything else plays into it though and that’s why I cause problems for people. As a heavy weight they may think I’m slower, maybe have some power but not as much skill. I train with people who are smaller than me. I picked up thinks from them so I use them," said Jared Anderson.

Jared is sparring partners with two-time heavy weight world champion Tyson Fury. That experience is invaluable to his success.

“It was huge. I just love working with him. I learned a lot. He taught me stuff. We learned life lessons. It was a great experience. I learned a lot being around him and his coach Sugar Hill. Cool guys,” said Anderson.

He’s excited to get after it from the MGM Grand when boxing makes it’s return.

“It will mean the world because it’s going to be a stepping stone to the world championship that we are all waiting on. Time will tell.” said Anderson.

The fights start at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
