TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo City Council members will vote on a mask ordinance on Tuesday, a city official said.
A spokesperson for the city of Toledo wouldn't give details on what the ordinance would entail.
On Sunday, Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz responded to a question on Twitter in which he said he believes City Council is prepared to pass an ordinance requiring masks.
It's unclear if council members Yvonne Harper, Tyrone Riley, Gary Johnson and Larry Sykes will be present following their arrest last week. The four members are responding to bribe and extortion charges in federal court.
This comes at the same time the city of Bowling Green considers mandating masks if Gov. Mike DeWine does not issue a statewide mandate on masks by the council's next meeting on July 20.
"If by our meeting on July 20 that hasn't happened, it's my intent anyway to give the mask ordinance three readings and declaring an emergency putting it into effect immediately," Bowling Green City Council President Mark Hollenbaugh told WTOL Friday.
Other Ohio cities such as Dayton, Columbus and Cleveland have also issued mask mandates as coronavirus cases spike again.
