TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo City Council announced on Tuesday that they have received 37 applications for two at-large vacancies.
At a council meeting on Feb. 28, current members of council will nominate candidates for the vacancies and vote to appoint two new members to fill the seats. City council said that if a majority of members of council vote to appoint a nominee, they will be eligible to be sworn in under oath and take office.
The vacancies were created after Tiffany Whitman and Katie Moline announced their resignations to accept new positions. Whitman is the new City of Toledo's Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Moline will serve as Lucas County auditor.
