TOLEDO, Ohio — The board of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library is looking to put a bond issue on the November ballot that would generate $153 million over 30 years construction, improvements and renovations on the system's facilities.
The one-mill levy would cost owners of a $100,000 home $34.95 a year, but it will need approval from the Lucas County commissioners before it can be placed on the November ballot.
TLCPL spokesperson Kristi Kopanis says the improvements would be for all 20 of the system's locations except the downtown library.
This is the first time since 1995 that the TLCPL has asked the community to help fund capital improvements.
