Toledo-Lucas County Health Department announces pop-up farmers markets

The farmers markets will take place on the third Tuesday of the month from July to October.

LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department is encouraging the community to eat fresh fruits and vegetables while they're still in season.

Starting next week, you'll be able to get them at pop-up farmers markets held on the third Tuesday of the month from July to October.

The farmers market schedule is as follows:

July 21

Eleanor Kahle Senior Center

1315 Hillcrest Ave, Toledo

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

August 18

Toledo-Lucas County Health Department

635 N. Erie, Toledo

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

September 15

Location TBD

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

October 20

East Toledo Family Center

1020 Varland Ave, Toledo

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All social distancing procedures will be followed in accordance with the Ohio Department of Health and CDC recommendations.

The Toledo Farmers Market staff will be on site to assist those using SNAP, P-EBT and TANF benefits. WIC Farmers Market coupons and Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program coupons will be accepted, in addition to those paying with cash.

Resource tables and vendors will be present at the Farmers Market, including OSU extension, Getting to 1, Lucas County WIC/Breastfeeding, Buckeye Health and others.
