TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is continuing to change with the times and meet people where they are.
In line with the recent phenomenon of restaurant, meal, and grocery delivery services that allow you to have your favorite food delivered right to your door, the library is now offering a home delivery service for some Lucas County residents.
The service is designed for those who are unable to get to the library but still want to utilize the library’s large collection of media.
The library’s home delivery service offers delivery and pick-up of materials throughout Lucas County to those who are physically unable to visit a library due to medical reasons.
Items are brought right to participants’ doors every four weeks.
Participants must have a valid library card and are responsible for replacement costs of items that are lost or damaged.
The library says couriers do not enter patrons’ homes and patrons must provide a safe and appropriate environment for couriers make deliveries.
Currently 143 library patrons are taking advantage of the service.
The service allows patrons to request books, DVDs, audiobooks, and more without having to leave the comfort of their home.
