TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo Lucas County Public Library's annual winter reading challenge is set to begin early next month.
The library said youths and adults who read two books between Jan. 2 and Feb. 28 are eligible for Winter Read grand prize drawings.
"Winter Read is a wonderful opportunity to broaden your horizons and develop strong reading habits, Nancy Eames, the Toledo Library's youth services coordinator said. "Whether your New Year's resolutions include making more time for reading or hitting a specific goal, the Toledo Library can help you achieve those aspirations."
The library said customers can register for Winter Read starting Thursday, Jan. 2 online using the Winter Read form, in-person at any library location or by logging into their Beanstack account.
Those who register for Winter Read will receive a hat as a sign-up prize, while supplies last. The library said sign-up prizes can be redeemed at any Toledo Library location.
Grand prizes for the winter reading challenge include Kindle Fires, Nintendo Switches and various gift cards. The library said winners will be picked in early March in a random drawing of all eligible participants. According to the library, grand prizes must be picked up by March 15.
