TOLEDO, Ohio — Police arrested a Toledo man early Monday after they said he repeatedly shoplifted from a west Toledo gas station and then drove by the building, shooting at it, TPD reported.
According to a police report, officers were called to the Circle K on North Holland Sylvania Road twice late Sunday for robbery alarms. In both cases, police said the alarms were triggered by Brandon Coleman, 27, who was allegedly shoplifting from the gas station, the report said.
After the second incident officers stayed nearby, parking across the street to see if the suspect would return again.
Shortly after 12 a.m. Monday officers said Coleman drove by the Circle K and fired shots at the building, police said.
Officers then attempted to stop Coleman's vehicle, but he drove through the gas station parking lot and struck a pole, according to the TPD report. Officers then took him into custody without incident, police said.
No one was injured in the incident, but the Circle K was hit with gunfire, police said.
Coleman has been charged with felonious assault, discharge of a firearm, and having a weapon under disability, police said.
