MONROE COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — A Toledo man died due to medical complications while driving in a Monroe County crash on April 4.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Robert Pfleger, 70, was exiting a private driveway on the west side of Whiteford Center Road, northwest of Hill Road, in Bedford Township around 1:09 p.m. when he drove directly across the road and into a ditch.
The sheriff's office said Pfleger was attempting to exit the vehicle when first responders arrived on the scene. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
An investigation and confirmation by the Lucas County Coroner's Office determined that Pfleger had experienced medical complications while driving, the sheriff's office said in a media release sent Tuesday.
