24-year-old injured in north Toledo hit-and-run motorcycle crash Friday night

The crash happened on Schwartz Road just before midnight.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A 24-year-old Toledo man was injured after a hit-and-run motorcycle crash in north Toledo on Friday night, according to Toledo police.

The crash happened just before midnight on Schwartz Road near the Hoffman Road Landfill and Grand Truck Western Railroad.

Police say Trevor Cope was riding south on Schwartz when a vehicle going north crossed the center line and hit Mr. Cope’s motorcycle.

The unidentified driver then fled the scene.

Cope suffered severe injuries but police say they aren’t believed to be life-threatening. He was taken to the hospital.

Police are continuing to investigate.
