Cedar Point announces Top Thrill 2 roller coaster will not reopen this season

Cedar Point said the manufacturer, Zamperla, will not be able to complete the modifications needed for Top Thrill 2 to reopen this season.

SANDUSKY, Ohio — Cedar Point announced Friday that Top Thrill 2 will not reopen for the 2024 season.

The amusement park said the roller coaster's manufacturer, Zamperla, will not be able to complete the modifications needed to reopen in 2024.

"We are extremely disappointed that we cannot open the ride this season, but remain committed to delivering a reliable, consistent and unparalleled coaster experience for our guests in 2025. In the meantime, please accept our sincere apology for the disappointment and inconvenience," Cedar Point said in a social media post.

Cedar Point announced in May that the roller coaster would be closed for an extended period before announcing Friday that it would not reopen for the season.

Top Thrill 2 occupies the former site of the Top Thrill Dragster.
