TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating a four car crash on the Anthony Wayne Trail at South Avenue Tuesday night.

At 7:08 p.m., a vehicle was traveling west on South Avenue near the AWT when the driver, a 45-year-old, of Toledo, along with one passenger, "failed to properly negotiate the turn" while attempting to proceed north on the AWT, according to a press release Wednesday morning.

The 45-year-old driver slammed into another vehicle, driven by a 57-year-old, of Michigan, causing both vehicles to cross the median of the AWT.

The car driven by the 57-year-old then struck two other vehicles, leaving no serious injuries to those occupants.

The 45-year-old and the passenger, as well as the 57-year-old were both injured and transported to the hospital. The severity of their injuries is unknown.
