TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating a pair of shootings that happened in the city Thursday. In both cases police said the victims suffered non life-threatening injuries.
Shot walking in central Toledo
At about 7 p.m. Thursday police were called to Mercy - St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for a report of a gunshot victim at the hospital.
Officers found a 25-year-old Toledo man he had been walking on Locust Street between Sherman Street and Bancroft Street in central Toledo when someone he didn't know in a Jeep Patriot shot him two to four times.
The victim told officers he called a relative to take him to the hospital. Officers said his injuries were not life threatening.
Masked gunmen shoot man in south Toledo
Shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Colburn Street in south Toledo for a report of a person shot in the hand.
There, officers found a 48-yearpold Toledo man who told police two men wearing all black with surgical masks covering their faces shot him during an attempted robbery at the nearby intersection of Colburn and Stebbins Street.
After the shooting, both suspects fled on foot, the victim told police. One went south on Stebbins and the other ran east on Colburn, he said.
The victim was taken to the hospital with what police called non life-threatening injuries.
