TOLEDO, Ohio — The University of Toledo Board of Trustees announced Friday the selection of a firm to assist with the search for the university's next president.

Board chair Patrick Kenney announced Education Executives as the firm assisting the university.

UToledo said the firm "specializes in the identification and recruitment of senior leaders for comprehensive research universities and academic medical centers."

According to the university, the board's goal is to have the next permanent president identified and in place before the start of the next academic year.

“The Board of Trustees respects the important role The University of Toledo plays in our community and the importance of ensuring we look nationally for the best leader to advance our public research university and academic medical center missions,” Kenney said in a press release from the university. “We were impressed with Education Executives’ experience in presidential searches, and we are confident they will guide us in attracting outstanding individuals for consideration and assist us with our efforts to engage University stakeholders – faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors and community members – to best inform the Board in its search and selection of The University of Toledo’s 19th president.”

A presidential search website that will provide updates throughout the search process can be found at this link. UToledo said nominations for the position should be sent to utoledo.president@edexsearch.com.

Matt Schroeder was announced as the university's interim president in April following the departure of Gregory Postel who left to be the senior vice president for health affairs and dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati.
