Vacant home being demolished after catching fire in east Toledo Friday

Toledo fire crews said that the home was abandoned and no one was hurt in the fire.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A vacant home is being demolished after catching fire on Friday in east Toledo.

Toledo Fire and Rescue was called out to a home around 3 p.m. in the 300 block of Parker Avenue near Starr Avenue and Mason Street. Crews told WTOL 11 at the scene that the home was abandoned and no one was hurt in the incident.

Around 6:30 p.m., an excavator could be seen demolishing the vacant home.

It is not yet known what caused the fire.
