PEMBERVILLE, Ohio — FirstEnergy customers in the Village of Pemberville will experience a complete four-hour shutdown of power on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
The shutdown of the entire village will be between the hours of 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.
A post on the Pemberville Police Department Facebook page from Mayor Carol Bailey said that if you pay a Village of Pemberville utility bill, this outage will affect you.
"Since the village buys our electricity from First Energy (we distribute) we are at their mercy regarding the timing of this shut-off," said Bailey.
Customers impacted are urged to prepare for the outage by making arrangements for those with medical needs that require electricity, refraining from doing anything during the time of the outage that the interruption of power could impact, and making sure things like phones are charged before power is off.
The mayor also said that if you have your telephone on "VOIC", you will not have phone service but cell phones should not be affected. The bank will also not be able to process any transactions, and stores and restaurants will most likely not be open for business.
"We apologize in advance of this unfortunate event and hope that you can prepare adequately with this notice," said Bailey.
It is unclear why the four-hour outage is happening. If you have any questions, you can reach out to the village office at 419-287-3832 or you can call the mayor directly at 419-419-9645.
