TOLEDO, Ohio — Volunteers are being sought to help clean up the grounds at McComas Village, the University of Toledo’s complex of buildings on campus that serve as housing for 7 fraternities and 7 sororities.
The McComas Village clean up will take place on August 4, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Current chapter members, alumni, and their family members are being asked to help remove small plants, tear out ivy, and lay down mulch.
The Greek Village Policy Committee, the UToledo Dept. of Environmental Sciences, Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, and the universities facilities and grounds department are asking volunteers to fill out a sign up sheet here.
Food will be provided.
Volunteers are asked to dress for outdoor work and bring items like gardening gloves, wheelbarrows and shears.
A message sent to alumni of the fraternities and sororities by the Greek Village Policy Committee says the university will be prepping the grounds for the volunteer effort by removing trees, grading the ground, and re-opening clogged drains.
McComas Village was built in 1990.
