CLEVELAND — An injured kitten was rescued and is being cared for after finding herself in a scary situation on Interstate 77 in Stark County, law enforcement bodycam video shows.
On Aug. 21, a driver called the Canton Dispatch Center to report seeing the injured kitten on the side of the road. That's when Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper Justin Smith spotted the kitten and scooped her into his patrol car.
According to internal highway patrol emails forwarded to 3News, it is believed the kitten suffered road rash, a hip laceration and broken teeth after possibly falling out of a vehicle. The kitten was treated at the Stark County Veterinary Emergency Clinic, and she's currently at the Stark County Humane Society where she's waiting to be adopted.
