TOLEDO, Ohio — Sylvania authorities say wind knocked down eight powerlines near the Wildwood Preserve Metropark Friday night and forced the closure of Central Avenue between Corey Road and the entrance to the park.
About 540 customers are without power, Toledo Edison spokesperson Lauren Siburkis said Friday night. Power is expected to be restored to the majority of those customers by 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Westerly gusts up to 40 mph are possible through midnight as the area is under a wind advisory. Winds will gradually subside overnight.
