Woman arrested after allegedly turning in front of Toledo Police officer, causing him to crash

Officials said the officer, who was en route to a call of a person shot, swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle and crashed head on into a metal pole.

TOLEDO (WTOL) - A Toledo police officer was hospitalized after a nasty crash overnight and a Toledo woman is now in custody, accused of causing the accident.

Marissa Bigley, 50, is accused of turning in front of a police cruiser that was en route to a call of a person shot. This happened at the intersection of Laskey and Jackman in west Toledo.

According to the police report, Bigley turned in front of the officer, causing him to swerve to avoid hitting her car. He crashed head on into a metal pole.

He was rushed to the hospital with injuries and he is expected to miss work for an extended period of time.

Bigley was found to have warrants and was transported to the Lucas County jail and booked. She did not have any injuries, according to the police report.

No shooting victim was ever located.
