YMCA of Greater Toledo to open 3 largest locations at the end of May

YMCA will open their three largest locations for members again on May 26. All other locations will open at the beginning of June.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The YMCA of Greater Toledo has announced that they will be opening their locations.

Starting May 26, The Fort Meigs (MEGS), Wolf Creek and West Toledo YMCA will open their doors for members. The rest of the locations will open at the beginning of June.

All of the buildings are getting deep cleanings before they open.

President and CEO at YMCA of Greater Toledo, Brad Toft, said the majority of what they offered before they closed because of the pandemic, will be open with some changes for health safety.

"When they come in, it will be a little different. We will have all the social distancing practices, many more hand sanitizing stations, every other piece of cardio equipment will not be available. It will be limited in terms of how many people can go to a group exercise class, the pool and those kinds of things," Toft said.

They are asking members to do their part such as making sure they feel healthy before they come, bringing their own towels, wiping down stations before and after use.

Toft said in the time they've been closed, they've invested tens of thousands of dollars to upgrade their cleaning equipment and staff resources to make sure things stay clean.
