TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Lucas County County Auditor Anita Lopez says she will not be running for Mayor.
Lopez was sworn in Monday for her third term as Lucas County Auditor. Her sons Armand and Andrew took part in the ceremony by offering the prayer and pledge of allegiance. Toledo Municipal Court Judge Michelle Wagner administered the oath.
At the ceremony Lopez said the Auditor's Office has several plans for the upcoming year, including releasing a new website, issuing new values for Lucas County this summer, and going paperless with many transactions.
She says right now those goals do not include running for the Mayor of Toledo.
Lopez say she's grateful for the opportunity to serve Lucas County citizens for a third term.
“I'm very honored to win the third term for Lucas County. First and foremost, I will not be running for mayor. I'm looking forward to spending time with my family. It's been two campaigns in a row; I really want to finish off these last three projects as Auditor. And I look forward to supporting the next Mayor in Office,” said Lopez.
