Napoleon Woman Files Lawsuit Against The Diocese of Toledo

Constance Davis wants Monsignor Michael Doyle's named removed from the new catholic office building.

TOLEDO -- Another charge and another lawsuit against the diocese of Toledo on Friday. Sylvania attorney David Zoll filed a lawsuit against the diocese on behalf of Napoleon resident Constance Davis.

The suit alleges that Monsignor Michael Doyle and others sexually abused Davis during her four years at the former St. Anthony's orphanage on Cherry street in north Toledo.  Connie says she started counseling in the 1990's to deal with the many flashbacks she suffered.

Monsignor Doyle died in 1987. Davis also believes Doyle used his position of authority to justify the abuse, and hopes her suit helps other St. Anthony victims to step forward. She also has about 15 demands which are not part of the lawsuit.

Davis is calling for the diocese of toledo to remove Monsignor Doyle's name from the catholic office building's new wing, and to pay for the counseling she has had to undergo the past several years.

The Diocese never returned calls to the News Channel to give their side of this story.
