TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - There's a new reason to make a trip to the Toledo Zoo.
The "Aquarium Adventure Trail" opened Friday. It's a new playground near the renovated aquarium.
The area includes slides, a tire swing, six over-sized animals and a "Cool Zone" splash pad area!
Kids can run through 32 different water spray features in the "Cool Zone."
But there are some rules to follow. The zoo has them posted on their website:
- NO lifeguard on duty
- Adult supervision required at all times. Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
- All participants must conduct themselves in a courteous, safe and family-oriented manner.
- Clothing or swimwear must be worn at all times. Swim diapers are required for all children not toilet trained. Swim diapers for sale in KC’s Gift Shop.
- NO food and glass containers in the Cool Zone
- NO climbing on Cool Zone features.
- NO roughhousing.
- NO athletic equipment, balls, noodles, etc. in Cool Zone.
- Cool Zone will be evacuated during inclement weather or visible lightning.
The entire area is handicapped accessible and included in zoo admission. It's located between Penguin Beach and the Primate Forest.
