News 11 Anchor Terry Thill to Leave Toledo This Summer

Bob Chirdon, VP/General Manager of WTOL-TV, announced Terry's resignation today. Terry will be returning to Cincinnati with his wife. An exact date for his departure has not been determined.

TOLEDO -- A member of the News 11 family will be leaving us soon. Bob Chirdon, VP/General Manager of WTOL-TV, announced Terry's resignation today. Terry will be returning to Cincinnati with his wife. An exact date for his departure has not been determined.

Terry Thill rejoined the WTOL news staff in January, 2003. From 1981 to 1985, Terry was producer and anchor for WTOL's noon news. He came back to WTOL News 11 to join Chrys Peterson as the station's weekday news anchor for News 11 at 6:00 and News 11 at 11:00.

Terry was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Prior to earning his Journalism Degree from South Dakota State University, he served two years at the naval air base in Okinawa.

Terry came to Toledo from Cincinnati where he was a reporter and weekend anchor. While there, he was named best television reporter in the state of Ohio by the Society of Professional Journalists.

He enjoys being active, with tennis, exercising, riding his bicycle, and walking among his favorite activities. Terry also admits to enjoying lawn work and fixing up his home, maintaining his aquarium, reading, and watching baseball.

The move to Cincinnati was prompted by a job promotion that Terry's wife, Joan, recently received. It will be more convenient for her to work out of Cincinnati than Toledo. Terry told his newsroom colleagues Tuesday that his wife came here because of his job at WTOL, and now it's his turn to follow her to her new job.
