In fact, he's grateful to his trial judge for a letter the man wrote just months before his death. It was because of that letter that Gov. Ted Strickland granted clemency to the 37-year-old.

It was because of that letter that, today, Willie Knighten, Jr., aged 37, walked straight out of prison into his new life.
