TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - It was almost seven months ago that Isaac (Ike) King, Jr., was gunned down outside of his home on Danberry in south Toledo. Now his wife, Brenda King, told WTOL she's being pegged as a possible suspect.
"It's a lot of pain I'm going through, a lot of stress. I'm going to see doctors. It's just too much for me," King said.
Brenda and Ike were married nearly 22 years, but on Dec. 22, 2014, she says the love of her life was gunned down while getting out of his car. Brenda says she heard the shots while she was inside watching TV.
After months of no leads in this case, Brenda says her late husband's siblings told police she hired a hit man to kill Ike.
"I don't understand why they're pointing fingers at Brenda," said Brenda Rance, her cousin. "She's here, she's suffering, she's grieving, she missed him. She's suffering more with him gone than she would be if he was alive because there was no insurance policy, there was no money to gain from this murder."
Police have questioned Brenda and she has agreed to a polygraph test if it comes down to that, but she and her family say police are wasting their time not looking for the real killer.
