Clinton, MI (WTOL) - People who oppose the Clinton Community Schools redskins mascot in say they're being treated unfairly.
The opponents claim they are being vilified, even threatened, by residents in the Lenawee County community. The opponents plan to attend a school board meeting Monday evening as they have every month for several months, saying the threats will not chase them away.
The superintendent of Clinton Community Schools, David Pray, says he has checked with faculty and local police and has found no reports of threats.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) of Michigan and the Michigan Coalition Against Racism in Sports and Media have been attending the meetings to protest the mascot name.
That meeting begins at Monday 7:27 in the high school library.
