PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Owens Community College begins 'Explore Owens' this week.
It's a week-long virtual open house, beginning June 22, in-lieu of people coming to campus to learn about the college.
Each year the college holds events like this, but this is the first time it's taken the open house entirely online.
There are 26 sessions that people can sign up for throughout the week at different times during the day.
Topics range from general admissions and financial topics to learning about every program the college has to offer.
Erin Kramer, director of Admissions at Owens Community College, says the Zoom sessions are open for anyone to learn more information about what Owens has to offer.
"People in the community, even high school students, can get on these sessions and talk to the professors, to the deans of the programs, the chairs of the programs. They can find out more about what they need to do to get started, what classes they would need to take and what future careers they could have in these programs" said Kramer.
She says the sessions are not going to be someone talking and them listening. They are interactive and some online groups will get to tour parts of the campus and classrooms.
A recording of the sessions will be posted on the Owens Community College YouTube page if you can't join live.
Kramer says they will be welcoming student back on campus for any fall semester help and one-on-one tours starting July 6.
