OREGON, OH (Toledo News Now) - He beat a murder rap last summer avoiding jail time, but now he's behind bars on a new charge.

Cameo Pettaway was arrested Sunday morning at an apartment in Oregon.

Bond is set at $75,000.

Oregon Police Chief Mike Navarre says Pettaway allegedly beat-up his live-in girlfriend during an argument in their apartment. She called police and Pettaway was arrested.

The girlfriend was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries to her head and eye.

Pettaway had been charged in the double-homicide of Johnny Clarke and Lisa Straub. He was acquitted in July after a judge ruled prosecutors didn't have enough evidence to prove the case. However, a codefendant in the case, Samuel Williams, was convicted on two counts each of aggravated murder and kidnapping, and one count of aggravated burglary.

Chief Navarre says Pettaway will be arraigned Monday in Oregon Municipal Court.
