Police investigating an apparent west Toledo murder-suicide

Two bodies were found Saturday afternoon at a house in the 3900 Block of Burnham Street near Sylvania Avenue.

TOLEDO, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - Toledo Police are investigating an apparent murder/suicide.

Two bodies were found Saturday afternoon at a house in the 3900 Block of Burnham Street near Sylvania Avenue.

The victims are identified as Todd Waingrow and his wife Leslie.

Those who knew the couple say Ms. Waingrow was getting ready to leave her husband.

They had been married for seven years.

"Past couple of days it's been pretty bad. I have no idea what the problem was" says Mr. Waingrow's friend Richard Warnke.

Relatives suspected the relationship was rocky.

Authorities were called late Saturday afternoon.

"One of the victim's sisters was having trouble contacting both of them. She notified the police, came over, made the discovery" says Det. Jay Gast of the Toledo Police Department.

Ms. Waingrow was an insurance agent in Maumee.

Mr. Waingrow worked at Toledo Clutch and Brake as a mechanic.

The couple had one child together.

"He's an awesome guy. Awesome dad. Always has been doing anything for anybody. Just an all around nice guy. Jerk too but what guy ain't, you know" says Mr. Waingrow's ex-girlfriend Lori Roe.

She speculates what the motive may be for the apparent murder/suicide.

"You just got to know him. He wouldn't just do it just to do it, no. He's got to be really hurt."
