TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo-area organization is offering free rides to polls for the presidential primary election in Lucas and northern Wood counties.

To get a ride on Election Day, call 419-868-3669 or email gotvohio@gmail.com, the Toledo Area Jobs with Justice & Interfaith Worker Justice Coalition said in a press release.

The coalition is also offering voter verification services. To check your voting status, location and precinct, call the same number — 419-868-3669 — for assistance.

The coalition said it is partnering with the Monroe Street Neighborhood Center to provide the free service.

"Our drivers and phone operators are standing by," the coalition said. "If the line is busy or you are sent to voicemail, make sure to leave your number, and your call will be returned as soon as possible."

Polls for the primary election are open throughout Ohio from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. You are still permitted to vote as long as you're in line before the polls close at 7:30 p.m.
