League of Women Voters of Ohio to make stop at UToledo for voter registration roadshow

The voter registration roadshow stop will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11 at Centennial Mall on the campus of UToledo from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The League of Women Voters of Ohio announced that its voter registration roadshow will be making a stop at the University of Toledo on Wednesday.

LWVO said the "Your Voice, Your Vote, Your Power" tour will be stopping at Centennial Mall on the campus of UToledo on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The organization said it is hitting the road from Sept. 3 to Oct. 7 "in a brand new 19-foot Caravel Airstream trailer, embarking on a statewide tour to engage students at approximately 20 colleges and universities across Ohio."

According to the League of Women Voters of Ohio, the roadshow aims to register students to vote, increase enthusiasm about the democratic process and provide answers to those who may have questions on issues important to them.

The organization said volunteers will be available to help with voter registration, educate students on the significance of civic engagement, explain voter ID law changes, highlight important election dates and provide info on becoming a poll worker.

"This year's theme, 'Your Voice, Your Vote, Your Power,' underscores the transformative power of individual participation in democracy. By making their voices heard and casting their votes, students will shape decisions and policies that impact not only their futures but the future of generations to come," the League of Women Voters of Ohio said in a press release.
