ROSSFORD, Ohio — Election season can do strange things to people. WTOL 11 checked-in with a pair of Rossford next-door neighbors, who had dueling signs during the Trump-Biden election and said they've been friendly fighting for years. This presidential election season they're at it again, and said they wouldn't have it any other way.
Glenn Goss and his neighbor enjoy the war of presidential yard signs.
"He usually gets more signs than I do. So, I always try to get the accessories like the flags, and the banners, and stuff like that. Including my Donald Trump in my door way," Goss said.
Goss said they've been happily fighting over politics for several of the nearly 30 years they've lived side by side.
"We've never argued over it. It's pretty much neighborly good fun in a way. You're always going to be my friend and neighbor and I'll be there for you. But, we can have difference of politics and still agree on many other things," Goss said.
Goss said this was never more true than when there was a loss in the family a few years back.
"My dad had passed and my neighbor," Goss said. "The democrat - he mowed my lawn while I was at the funeral. You know he was taking care of the neighbor, and I've taken care of his stuff too. You know we take care of each other."
While Goss' neighbors declined to go on camera, but said they agreed when it came to politics: It's okay to disagree.
"It's all in fun," Goss said. "At the end of the day we'll still be neighbors and friends. We do believe that the world should change, you know as far as government doing better for it's own people. Now how that happens, we don't always see eye-to-eye."
Really, Goss said there's only one other feud these two have on a more consistent basis: who's got the better lawn.
"I always will have the better lawn and my neighbors know it, and I let him know it," Goss said.
