MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) - Thousands of people lost power in southeastern Michigan Thursday afternoon.
According to Consumers Energy, the outage extended from Luna Pier in the west, to Ottawa Lake in the east and as far north as Samaria. Included in the outage are Lambertville and Temperance, near the Ohio-Michigan line.
A Consumers Energy spokesperson says around 4,700 customers lost power. She says a third party crew was doing work on a water tower in Temperance near a substation and some of the equipment being used fell onto a large power line, knocking out power.
Homes and businesses were without power for several hours before crews could repair the line.
