TOLEDO-- The University of Toledo Rockets are the GMAC Champions. Last night, they beat UTEP Miners 45-13.
Bruce Gradkowski threw for five touchdowns, and senior running back Trinity Dawson rushed for over one hundred yards. David Thomas returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown.
The Rockets represented the Mid-American conference in this bowl game. The MAC has never lost in the GMAC game. Bowl officials said some of the largest fan support to see this bowl game in its history came from Toledo.
UTEP ended its season with a defeat for the 19th consecutive year, and dropped to 0-4 in bowls since 1967.
