ARCHBOLD, Ohio — Rows of people showed up to support and celebrate their friends and family in a process that has been long awaited Thursday.
A total of 52 citizens from 31 countries took the final steps in their process for United States citizenship.
"It's so amazing and its a historical event. It's memorable that I will not forget throughout my life," said one new citizen, Prepedelia Acio-Asis.
Endless possibilities, acceptance, and opportunity were some of the words used to describe the entire process.
"You often don't have the time to pause and look at what has happened, instead you keep going forward and keep looking ahead. Very random do you look behind and see what you have left and the steps that you have taken to get where you are" said third-year-naturalized citizen, Isabel Isaza-Trujillo.
Each applicant had to be interviewed by an immigration officer and approved for citizenship, along with other criteria, but in the end, the process was all worth it.
