HOLLAND, OH (Toledo News Now) - Thursday was a day bouncing enthusiasts had been waiting for: Sky Zone, the indoor trampoline park, opened its doors. Now there may be more business coming to the area soon.
is expected to draw more people to the intersection of Albon and Airport Highway in Holland. Now there are plans to accommodate those new faces with new restaurants and shops.
“If it brings more shopping a little bit farther away from down the street, more towards the highway, that would be great,” said Brian Ruff, owner of the Blue Smoke Bar and Grill. “We've seen, you know, not as much traffic this way over the years, but I think as they start developing more, we are going to see a bigger growth this way.”
Developers say they are having no problem attracting new business in the area.
“People are knocking on the doors trying to get leases for those buildings, and we expect to start that sometime this summer,” said Rich Iott, a partner at Stone Oak Business Condos.
Iott says he is also negotiating with a major business to move to the intersection of Albon and Airport.
He says nearly $15 million have been poured into the area since 2008, with more to come.
“Between the Mancaves, Glass City, and Sky Zone, there's probably over 200 jobs that have been created here,” he said. “And when the retail comes online it will be considerably more than that.”
Iott says the retail shop will create another 200 jobs.
