HOLLAND, OH (WTOL) - Springfield schools are looking at how they can increase school safety.

School officials want to renew the current levy that addresses security concerns.

Additionally a proposed increase to that levy will also appear on the November ballot.

The district says it is their responsibility to amp up security measures to keep students safe.

"A lot of it consists of new doors. To put one new door on a room for better safety each door is $1,000," said Sherri Koback, president of Springfield's school board."Cameras. We want to have a centralized location to view the cameras in the buildings."

The levy request is for five years and only a slight increase from what homeowners are currently paying.
