Members of the Toledo Lucas County cold case unit presented four cases to the Lucas County Grand Jury Thursday, resulting in two suspects indicted for murder.
First, Debra Cullum, 45, was indicted for the 1988 murder of Robert Cherry in west Toledo. It was known by investigators that the murder likely had to do with a prostitute and an argument over money.
Also Thursday, Raymond Cox, who is serving time in the Lima Correctional Facility for a manslaughter death, was indicted for two cold case murders and an unsolved felonious assault.
Cox, 22, is already in prison for the death of Craig Coulter. In 2002, when Cox was 17-years-old, he was tried as an adult and accepted a plea deal for the manslaughter conviction.
After the cold case hearing, Cox was indicted Thursday for the deaths of two separate men found in the same location two years apart. In 1999, the body of Theodore Goodacre was found on the railroad tracks in a wooded area off Main St. in downtown Toledo. Cox was 14-years-old at the time. In 2001, the body of Reginald Jones was found a few hundred feet farther down the railroad tracks. Both men were homeless, another clue that tied the two cases together.
In 2002, David Dusseau was beaten with a pipe inside his east Toledo home on Raymer Street. Cox was also indicted Thursday for felonious assault in that case. Dusseau was sometimes homeless, which helped the cold case unit tie the cases together.
