Toledo doctor gets suspended sentence for vehicular homicide

Dr. Nabil Ebraheim was convicted of vehicular manslaughter in Toledo Municipal Court Thursday.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Dr. Nabil Ebraheim was convicted of vehicular manslaughter in Toledo Municipal Court Thursday, June 26.

Ebraheim was sentenced to 90 days in jail, which Judge Timothy Kuhlman suspended. The judge also levied a $750 fine and ordered Ebraheim's license suspended for a year.

Ebraheim does have driving privileges for his medical practice and teaching obligations.

Ebraheim must attend a one day class in the victim impact program.

Dr. Ebraheim was involved in an accident with motorcyclist Larry Hilton last August.  Ebraheim's vehicle struck Hilton at the intersection of Dorr and Richards in dense fog. Hilton died as a result of the accident.

Dr. Ebraheim was on his way to a surgery at UTMC while Hilton was on his way to work.
