TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - A Toledo man is dead after drowning at a Monroe County campground.
Michael L. Jackson, 39, of Toledo drowned in a pond at the KOA Kamp Grounds in Summerfield Township on Saturday.
At around 7:50 p.m., Jackson was swimming in about 12 feet of water near the center of the pond when his family noticed he was in distress and went under water.
Off-duty paramedics and registered nurses at the campgrounds jumped in the water, pulled Jackson out and started CPR.
He was then taken to Flower Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
